Kevin M. Cox is a Houston based photojournalist and sports photographer currently on staff at The Galveston County Daily News. He is a 2002 graduate of Texas State University in San Marcos where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Photography.

Kevin’s work has been published in numerous publications including the New York Times, USA Today, Houston Chronicle and He is a frequent contributor to the Associated Press and his work is consistently recognized year-after-year by the Associated Press Managing Editors as among the best in Texas.

Kevin lives in League City, halfway between Galveston Island and downtown Houston, with his wife Ashley Cox who is an accomplished wedding and portrait photographer. He is currently the Region 8 Chair of the National Press Photographers Association.

Kevin has a full compliment of Canon professional equipment including multiple “1-series” bodies and lenses from 16mm to 400mm, all f/2.8 or faster.  He is equipped to transmit from location on deadline.

Kevin is available for freelance assignments and travel throughout Texas.
